With two years of eligibility left, Dejnozkova brings her successful track record from Mobile, where she notched 32 singles wins and 23 doubles victories. Her standout performance earned her a spot on the second-team All-Sun Belt roster for the 2023-24 season.

Coach Schmid expressed excitement about adding Dejnozkova to the team, citing her impressive skills and experience gained at South Alabama, where she competed at a high level, notably as the top singles player. Dejnozkova’s sophomore season saw her excel with a 13-5 singles record, including a remarkable 12-4 record at the No. 1 position, alongside a strong 14-6 showing in doubles matches.

Reflecting on her decision, Dejnozkova highlighted her immediate connection with Coach Schmid and the appeal of Iowa’s renowned tennis program, seeing it as an ideal fit for both her academic pursuits and tennis aspirations. With her background as a standout player at OA Satalice in Prague, Dejnozkova is poised to contribute to Iowa’s tennis program from the outset.

The University of Iowa’s women’s tennis team, coming off an 11-12 season and ranking sixth in the Big Ten standings in 2024, eagerly anticipates the addition of Dejnozkova to their roster.
