Despite Holtmann’s dismissal last season, Diebler’s interim coaching stint proved successful enough to secure him the permanent position, making him Stewart’s new coach. Stewart expressed to the Columbus Dispatch that his rapport with Diebler dates back to his high school recruitment days, emphasizing their strong connection throughout the decision-making process. Stewart highlighted the excitement of reconnecting with Diebler, who had initially recruited him as an assistant coach and now assumes the head coaching role.

Stewart, recognized for his talent, faced challenges in finding his place within Duke’s team dynamics, often needing guidance from his more experienced teammates on the court. Stewart’s success at Ohio State may hinge on resolving such challenges. We extend our best wishes to him as he embarks on this new chapter with the Buckeyes.
