BREAKING: Duke Blue Devils confirm the departure of another star player

The Ohio State Buckeyes have secured a significant talent from the transfer portal with the addition  of Duke player.

Jake Diebler’s influence is clearly evident as the Buckeyes continue to capitalize on the transfer market.

According to several sources on Friday, Ohio State has successfully recruited Stewart, a highly regarded player who was previously recognized as a McDonald’s All-American in the 2023 recruiting class. This marks the fourth transfer portal acquisition for the team this offseason.

During his freshman season at Duke, Sean Stewart showcased his potential in a reserve role, averaging 2.6 points and 3.2 rebounds per game in just 8.4 minutes of play. Despite his limited minutes, he displayed efficiency with a 57.1 percent shooting percentage. With the Buckeyes, Stewart is expected to take on a more prominent role due to departures from both the frontcourt and backcourt, including players like Felix Okpara, Zed Key, Scotty Middleton, Roddy Gayle Jr., and Bowen Hardman.

Although Stewart’s scoring numbers were modest, he consistently contributed under Coach Jon Scheyer’s system. Notably, he recorded a season-high 16 points and 10 rebounds in a game against La Salle and played a significant 26 minutes, scoring 12 points in a victory over eventual ACC Tournament champions and Final Four participant, N.C. State.

Stewart gained valuable experience in high-pressure situations, participating in all four of Duke’s NCAA Tournament games. In the Round of 32 matchup against James Madison, he contributed five points and seven rebounds in 15 minutes off the bench.

Joining Ohio State, Stewart adds to an impressive group of transfers, including Micah Parrish from San Diego State, Aaron Bradshaw from Kentucky, and Meechie Johnson from South Carolina, further enhancing the Buckeyes’ roster with elite talent.
