Just In. Ravens Star Reveals His New Jersey Number

In his upcoming second season, Trenton Simpson is set to take on a more significant role, accompanied by a notable change in his jersey number. Transitioning from No. 30 in his rookie year, Simpson will now don the No. 23, as indicated by his Instagram profile. This shift to No. 23 for the Ravens’ ILB seems to be a tribute to his mother.

Simpson is anticipated to step into the starting inside linebacker position alongside Roquan Smith, taking over from Patrick Queen, who moved to the Steelers in free agency. His decision to switch jersey numbers to No. 23 is a tribute to his mother, Dionna Ford, who sported the same number while playing softball. Notable Ravens who previously wore No. 23 include safety Tony Jefferson and running back Willis McGahee. During his college years at Clemson, Simpson wore No. 22.

In other jersey number updates, veteran outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy recently announced his switch to No. 53, while rookie first-round pick Nate Wiggins will be donning No. 2.
