JUST IN. LSU to offer five Class of 2026 prep football recruits in New Orleans

The New Orleans metropolitan region boasts numerous skilled high school football prospects, and the upcoming Class of 2026 seems particularly abundant in talent.

Under Brian Kelly’s leadership, LSU has been actively working to retain Louisiana’s top talents within the state, a strategy that has seen success, as indicated by the significant number of LSU commitments from the Class of 2025. Already, Kelly’s team has extended offers to multiple recruits from the Class of 2026.

Five promising football prospects from the New Orleans area, all part of the 2026 class, have garnered offers from LSU and other prestigious Division I programs following impressive sophomore campaigns. As juniors this fall, they aim to further enhance their prospects and attract more attention from recruiters.

Jahkeem Stewart, St. Augustine

Stewart doesn’t just hold the title of the top-ranked defensive player in Louisiana’s Class of 2026; he’s widely regarded as the premier defensive prospect nationwide, boasting an extensive array of offers from elite Power Five programs. His exceptional abilities were recognized with a first-team All-Metro selection during his sophomore year. Beyond football, Stewart is a versatile athlete, having also secured qualification for the state track and field championships in shot put.

Aiden Hall, Edna Karr

Hall follows in the footsteps of numerous successful recruits from Edna Karr High School, holding the position as the second-ranked defensive back prospect in Louisiana’s Class of 2026. His recent surge in offers from Power Five programs, particularly from the SEC, highlights his growing prominence in the recruiting scene. Hall is poised to capitalize on his achievements from a standout sophomore season, during which he earned first-team All-Metro honors, as he navigates his options among top collegiate programs.

Jabari Mack, Destrehan

Mack leads the pack as the top-ranked wide receiver in Louisiana’s Class of 2026, spearheading an impressive Destrehan receiver corps alongside the highly sought-after Phillip Wright from the Class of 2025. With notable accomplishments in his sophomore season, Mack has showcased his prowess on the field and is poised for further growth as a junior. As he aims to attract more attention from recruiters, he is expected to elevate his performance and bolster his already impressive list of offers.

Richard Anderson, Edna Karr

Anderson commands attention with his imposing stature, serving as a formidable presence at the heart of Edna Karr’s defensive line. Like his teammate Aiden Hall, he has started to garner significant interest from recruiters. Anderson holds the distinction of being the third-ranked defensive lineman in Louisiana’s Class of 2026, a testament to his skill and potential. Additionally, his standout performance as a sophomore earned him a well-deserved spot on the first team All-Metro roster.

Jalan Chapman, Warren Easton

Chapman reigns as the top-ranked interior offensive lineman in Louisiana’s Class of 2026, even without a four-star rating. Despite this, major programs have taken notice of his talent and potential. Elite prospects at the guard and center positions are a rarity, but Chapman seems to fit that bill, drawing attention for his exceptional skills. As he strives to further solidify his standing, Chapman aims to build upon the success of his All-Metro sophomore season.
