Latest LSU News: Ohio State working to flip 5-star LSU wide receiver

Amid the NFL Draft and NBA playoffs grabbing most of the sports world’s attention, the college football recruiting scene has been relatively subdued. However, Ohio State University remains a bustling hub in recruiting activities, and they continued to seize the spotlight on Monday.

Over the weekend, Ohio State hosted Dakorien Moore, a committed wide receiver for LSU’s 2025 class from Duncanville, Texas. Reports emerging from the visit suggest it went exceptionally well, especially with Moore being accompanied by his mother throughout the trip, which spanned from Friday to Sunday. Despite his prior commitment to LSU, Moore has maintained an interest in Ohio State since the beginning of his recruitment, and having his mother join him for the visit added an extra layer of significance.

How did LSU football land 5-star WR Dakorien Moore?

Initially slated to visit Ohio State for the spring game, Moore had to cancel due to a conflicting track meet. However, he diligently rescheduled the visit for this past weekend, where he was the sole recruit on campus, much to the delight of the Buckeyes.

According to Steve Wiltfong of On3, Moore’s visit was notably more personal due to the presence of his mother and the exclusive attention he received as the only recruit on campus. Wiltfong also affirmed that Ohio State is among the top contenders for Moore’s commitment.

Despite committing to LSU in August of last year, Moore has remained active in his recruitment. Ohio State isn’t the sole contender vying to sway him, as both Texas and Oregon are actively pursuing him as well. Prior to his visit to Ohio State, he even toured Texas. It’s expected that Moore’s summer will be similarly filled with recruiting activities, but he may make his final decision before his senior season begins.

Moore holds the distinction of being ranked as the top wide receiver recruit in the 247Sports Composite Rankings and is ranked third overall. Additionally, he’s considered the premier recruit from Texas, a state renowned for its football talent.
