Bills’ Brandon Beane gives latest update on Micah Hyde

The Buffalo Bills are facing a significant change in their roster as they find themselves without Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde for the first time since 2017, when they joined the team.

Poyer has departed, having chosen to sign with the Miami Dolphins as a free agent.

As for Hyde, the situation is more complex. Following the conclusion of the previous season, he hinted at the possibility of retirement. At 33 years old, Hyde has been grappling with a series of neck injuries in recent years, and his contract expired after 2023. While he remains without a team as a free agent, there remains a chance that he could return to Buffalo.

As of the latest update, there’s not much new information to report. During a video conference preceding the 2024 NFL draft, General Manager Brandon Beane addressed questions about Micah Hyde. Beane mentioned that communication between the team and Hyde is ongoing.

Beane went on to explain that their discussions have been more personal in nature rather than strictly business. He emphasized that Hyde hasn’t definitively made a decision one way or the other.
