Breaking: Auburn’s women’s basketball makes a significant addition with the acquisition of a high-profile transfer

Following the departure of their top scorer and All-SEC pick, Honesty Scott-Grayson, the Auburn women’s basketball team was in search of a new leader for the upcoming 2024-25 season. Recently, they identified their candidate in the form of the dynamic scorer Taliah Scott.

Scott, who transferred from Arkansas, showcased her skills in 20 games last season with the Razorbacks, starting 19 of them. She dominated the scoring charts, averaging 22.1 points per game, while displaying accuracy from beyond the arc with a 29.5 percent success rate on three-pointers (52-176). Additionally, her proficiency at the free throw line was impressive, hitting 88 of 105 attempts for an 83.8 percent conversion rate. Notably, she achieved double-digit scoring in 19 out of 20 games played for Arkansas.

One of her standout performances was against Auburn, where she played the entire 40 minutes, scoring 33 points on 11-23 shooting from the field and 6-12 from downtown in a narrow 74-72 victory.

Scott brings an impressive high school resume to Auburn, being one of the most distinguished prep players in the program’s history. Hailing from Orange Park, Florida, the 5-9 guard was recognized as a McDonald’s All-American in 2023 and earned the title of Florida Gatorade Player of the Year. During her senior year, she posted remarkable averages of 36.2 points, 9.2 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 3.0 steals per game. Her career points tally stands at an impressive 2,735.
