Travis Kelce Reveals How His Relationship With Taylor Swift Has Impacted Pop Culture

The partnership between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce has elevated each of their careers to new heights.

When Lil Dicky, a guest on Travis and brother Jason Kelce’s New Heights podcast on Wednesday, April 10, the pop star and Kansas City Chiefs tight end started dating last summer. Dicky couldn’t help but wonder how the hosts were handling the flood of Swift admirers.

Jason remarked, “It hasn’t changed that much for me,” but Travis was first to add all the good vibes that Swift’s supporters had to provide.

“It’s fun, man. I’m having a blast in life, baby. Just flyin’ high. Enjoying it all,” he shared. “Bringing new lives to the football world, and opening the football world up to new things as well.”

Despite Travis’s admission on Wednesday’s show that he didn’t even “know how I [dated Taylor] because… she was not into sports,” the two had such a strong bond that Swift was a regular at almost every Chiefs game last season, from her first game at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City in September 2023 to the Chiefs’ February 2024 Super Bowl victory. Swift’s obvious zeal and star power brought about the Swifties.

Along with going viral with songs like “Seemingly Ranch,” which is a real Heinz condiment based on a Swift fan account’s tweet about the singer’s favorite dipping sauce for chicken fingers at one of Travis’ games, the pop star has added millions to the value of the Chiefs and NFL brands, specifically $331.5 million, according to Apex Marketing.

Travis, on the other hand, has not only changed Swift’s song “Karma” lyric, but he has also toured the globe to support her on her massively popular Eras Tour. She has sang “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs” at several shows, rather than the lyrics, which are about her ex-Joe Alwyn, “Karma is the guy on the screen.”

Regarding Swift and Travis’ romance, Lil Dicky is entirely on board, saying on New Heights that it made him think of “high school” in the greatest manner conceivable.

“Honestly, I love it. … Most popular pop star, beloved musician, somehow met like, your most popular beloved athlete, and they actually fell in love and like, it’s just real. There’s something so American about it … there’s something so classic about it.”
