In the previous season, while playing for Double-A Biloxi, he posted a batting average of .262 with an on-base percentage of .339 and a slugging percentage of .441, along with hitting 16 home runs and driving in 49 runs. Additionally, he distinguished himself as one of the most promising young catchers in baseball, particularly in terms of defensive skills.
During the most recent Spring Training, Quero recorded a batting average of .211 with an on-base percentage of .238 and a slugging percentage of .421. He also contributed with a home run and four runs batted in before being reassigned to minor league camp.

On Wednesday afternoon, the team disclosed that Quero has a torn labrum, necessitating a nine-month recovery period, effectively terminating his 2024 season before it commenced.
There were high hopes for Quero to receive his inaugural call-up to the Majors at some stage during this season.
