James Smith-Williams, previously a defensive end for the Washington Commanders, is set to kick off his 2024 NFL campaign with the Atlanta Falcons.

He was selected in the 7th round as the 229th overall pick by the Washington Commanders in the 2020 NFL Draft. Spending four seasons with the Commanders after his college tenure with the North Carolina State Wolfpack, Smith-Williams has now inked a one-year contract with the Falcons.

During his tenure with the Commanders squad, James Smith-Williams featured in 55 games, tallying seven sacks and 31 quarterback hits. However, in the last season, his game time was limited due to injuries, as he appeared in 13 games and notched 22 tackles, one sack, two tackles for loss, and eight quarterback hits. Throughout his time with the Commanders, he started in 27 games.
