“We’ve got a couple spots left on our roster”: Hugh Freeze identifies key positions he is willing to trade players for

Witnessing the debut of freshman wide receiver Cam Coleman’s performance last Saturday brought renewed excitement to Auburn football enthusiasts. For a while, the team has faced challenges in identifying a reliable receiver, but the influx of fresh talent ahead of the 2024 season suggests a shift in this trend.

Nevertheless, despite the influx of promising newcomers, head coach Hugh Freeze has emphasized that there are still specific positions the Tigers aim to solidify before the upcoming fall season.

“We’ve got a couple spots left on our roster,” Freeze said after the spring game, per Auburn Undercover. “If you’re going to fill it, let’s fill it with D-line and receivers. I think that’s where we need to add some more depth. It did seem that they played well today.”

Enhancing the passing game stands out as a primary objective for the Auburn football program in 2024. With the addition of new wide receivers and a revamped offensive strategy, it appears to be a realistic target for the Tigers.

Four Auburn greats inducted into the Tiger Trail

In downtown Auburn, the sidewalks are adorned with plaques commemorating the names of Auburn legends. This past weekend, four more distinguished figures were added to this esteemed trail: former gymnast Caitlin Atkinson, former softball player Kasey Cooper, former basketball coach Cliff Ellis, and former football player Takeo Spikes.
