Standout player from Western Hills schedules visit to Georgia amid potential transfer

The lineman from Kentucky recently visited the campus earlier this month and has planned an official visit for this week. Quickly emerging as a prime target for Georgia’s defensive line, Javeon Campbell has garnered significant attention from the Bulldogs.

Georgia had been assessing the standout player from Western Hills, Kentucky since the start of the year. This assessment culminated in a visit during spring practice earlier this month, during which Campbell received a direct offer from Tray Scott, Georgia’s defensive line coach.

Campbell expressed his excitement, stating, “I was just blown away. I didn’t expect it like that. I was really excited this is all happening.” This offer has led to another visit to Georgia, this time an official one.

Scheduled for June 21-23, Campbell’s visit to Athens marks his third official visit, with previous visits planned for Ohio State and Kentucky. He also aims to schedule visits to Alabama and Auburn.

Looking ahead to his next visit to Georgia, Campbell aims to explore the campus further and engage more deeply with Coach Scott. Reflecting on his previous interactions with Scott and Dayton LeBlanc, a support staffer, Campbell credits Georgia’s coaching staff for providing a strong incentive in his recruitment.

Campbell’s enthusiasm extends beyond the coaching staff. Having attended a Georgia spring practice session, he noted the team’s dedication and accountability. “You can just tell they really want to do something this upcoming season,” Campbell remarked, highlighting the culture of accountability among the players.

Despite considering both in-state and out-of-state options, Campbell remains undecided. “Really, it can go both ways,” he explained, weighing the merits of staying close to home versus exploring opportunities farther afield.

Campbell, a 3-star prospect according to 247Sports, holds the rank of third overall prospect in Kentucky and 33rd-ranked defensive lineman nationally in the 2025 recruiting class.
