Breaking News: Chargers confirm the signing of another top super star to bolster squad depth

The Los Angeles Chargers made a significant move to address their cornerback position by signing Kristian Fulton, formerly of the Tennessee Titans. Fulton, a second-round pick from LSU in the 2020 NFL Draft, brings valuable experience to the Chargers’ secondary, having started 37 out of 42 games during his first four seasons in the league.

The contract terms indicate that Fulton’s signing is for one season, as reported by NFL Network. At 25 years old, Fulton is entering a crucial phase of his career, and his addition to the Chargers’ roster is expected to bolster their defense.

During the past season, Fulton recorded 46 tackles, including 37 solo tackles, in 12 games played. Throughout his four-season career with the Titans, he amassed a total of 150 tackles, with 116 being solo tackles. Additionally, Fulton contributed four interceptions and one fumble recovery over the course of 42 games.

The Chargers’ decision to sign Fulton comes after they lost Michael Davis to free agency, with Davis joining the Washington Commanders. This departure left the Chargers with limited experienced options at cornerback, with only Deane Leonard, Asante Samuel Jr., and Ja’Sir Taylor remaining on the roster. Fulton’s arrival is expected to add depth to the cornerback position and provide valuable support to the Chargers’ defense.

Looking ahead, the Chargers may still pursue additional cornerback depth during the upcoming NFL draft, scheduled for April 25-27 in Detroit. Despite holding the fifth overall pick, they might opt to trade down to acquire more selections, allowing them to address other areas of need such as cornerback and wide receiver.

Under the guidance of new head coach Jim Harbaugh, the Chargers are set to begin their offseason workouts next week in Costa Mesa, marking the start of a new era for the team.
