Manly playmaker is now wanted by several clubs

Jake Arthur might be contracted with the Manly Sea Eagles until the culmination of the 2025 season, yet there are reports suggesting that other teams are keeping a close eye on his situation within the club.

Having been acquired by the Manly Sea Eagles from the Parramatta Eels midway through the previous season, Arthur has participated in six matches for the club. Notably, he secured a two-year contract extension in September last year.

However, following the arrival of Luke Brooks and the decision to designate Jamie Humphreys as the third-choice option in the halves, Arthur’s standing within the club has diminished.

Given the scarcity of depth in the halves across various NRL teams, The Daily Telegraph asserts that numerous clubs are monitoring Arthur’s status at the Manly Sea Eagles.

At just 21 years old, Arthur has commenced this season in the NSW Cup but is inclined to depart for an NRL opportunity with another club.

Although predominantly operating in the halves, former NRL premiership winner Luke Lewis suggested last year that Arthur could transition to a forward role as a ball-playing lock.

Lewis commented on The Short Side, stating, “He’s got some impressive footwork, he’s robust, he actively seeks involvement in the game.” He added, “I envision Jakob Arthur evolving into a 13. Jake’s stature is quite substantial already. As he continues to develop physically, I believe he’ll excel as a ball-playing lock.”
