According to insights from Jake Rowe, a recruiting insider for On3 Georgia, the Bulldogs are making significant strides in their pursuit of Petty. Initially, the outlook seemed uncertain, but recent developments suggest that Georgia’s approach is resonating more strongly with Petty now than it did a few months ago. Rowe expresses optimism regarding Georgia’s chances, attributing much of it to Petty’s recent visit, which the player himself confirmed as a pivotal event.

“I had a great time with the coaches,” the 5-star offensive tackle told On3. “I really love the staff over there. I’ve got a great relationship with Coach (Kirby) Smart and Coach (Stacy) Searels those guys feel like family.”

Petty emphasized that his visit to Georgia showcased the program’s exceptional qualities and their strong desire to secure a national championship—a sentiment that resonated deeply with him.

Given Coach Smart’s track record of success, there’s optimism about Georgia’s ability to sway Petty’s decision in their favor.

However, competition for Petty’s commitment is fierce, with Clemson, Georgia Tech, Auburn, and Florida State also heavily involved in his recruitment.

According to 247Sports, Petty ranks as the second-best offensive tackle in the Class of 2025.
