The Los Angeles Chargers made an official announcement regarding the addition of Poona Ford, a defensive tackle, to their roster. Ford initially gained recognition in the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2018 while playing for the Seahawks, where he spent the first five years of his professional career. His most notable performance occurred in 2021, during which he recorded 53 tackles and two sacks across 17 games.

In the preceding season, Ford joined the Bills, contributing nine tackles and one sack in eight games. Although Ford is likely to serve as a backup for the Chargers, there is a possibility that he may contend for a starting position.

During his senior season, the former University of Texas standout earned accolades as the Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year and was named to the first-team All-Big 12. His impressive statistics for that year include 34 tackles, 1.5 sacks, eight tackles for loss, a forced fumble, and a blocked field goal. In the NFL, Ford has established himself with a successful career, and now with the Chargers, he aims to further solidify his impact. Los Angeles seeks to bolster their interior defense, and Ford’s addition will undoubtedly contribute to this goal.
