However, as of now, the Brewers are not inclined to part ways with him. Adames, currently 28 years old, is set to become a free agent after the ongoing season.

Last season, Adames featured in 149 games for the Milwaukee Brewers, recording a .217 batting average alongside 24 home runs and 80 RBIs. He also notched five stolen bases while attempting three caught stealing. Adames boasted a .310 batting average with Milwaukee last season.

One of the primary reasons driving the Dodgers’ interest in acquiring Adames is Gavin Lux’s loss of the shortstop position to Mookie Betts during spring training. Although Betts primarily plays in the outfield, shortstop appears to be a secondary position for him.

Lux was sidelined for the entirety of the 2023 season due to injury. With the Dodgers widely regarded as the top contenders for the 2024 World Series, they are constantly seeking ways to enhance their roster.
