5-star WR narrows recruitment to four schools longhorns are favorites to land the super star

Although Dakorien Moore has been committed to LSU since last August, numerous programs have intensified their efforts to recruit the talented five-star wide receiver from Duncanville, Texas. Recognized as one of the most dynamic prospects in the 2025 recruiting class, Moore is attracting significant attention from various schools.

Despite his prior commitment to LSU, Moore recently announced his decision to narrow down his options to four programs and cease communication with others. Among these finalists are the Texas Longhorns, who are striving to sway Moore away from his commitment to LSU under the coaching of Brian Kelly. Alongside Texas, the remaining contenders in Moore’s top four schools include LSU (his current commitment), Ohio State, and Oregon. Each of these programs boasts a strong tradition of producing top-tier wide receivers, with promising prospects likely to be drafted early in the upcoming NFL Draft. Furthermore, they have all demonstrated high-level performance at the wide receiver position in recent seasons.

Texas presents a compelling narrative with Adonai Mitchell and Xavier Worthy positioning themselves as potential first-round draft picks. However, they will need to showcase their value convincingly to secure Moore’s commitment. Meanwhile, LSU has assembled a formidable recruiting class, highlighted by five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood and five-star running back Harlem Berry, adding to the allure of their program.

According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Moore holds the prestigious title of the nation’s top-ranked wide receiver prospect and ranks third overall. His outstanding performance during his junior season speaks volumes about his talent and contribution to Duncanville’s success. Moore amassed an impressive 71 catches for 1,523 yards, scoring a remarkable 18 touchdowns, all of which contributed significantly to Duncanville securing yet another state championship.
