According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC, the Texans are bringing back experienced defensive tackle Khalil Davis. Originally set to enter restricted free agency, the Texans opted to secure him with a one-year contract instead of tendering him.

Report: Desmond King, Eric Murray staying with Texans on one-year deals

Aaron Wilson of KPRC reports that the Texans have finalized a one-year contract with safety Eric Murray and are in the final stages of re-signing nickel corner Desmond King.

King’s contract is set at $1.8 million, with the potential to reach a maximum value of $2.2 million.

At 29 years old, King previously played for the Texans in the 2021-22 season and spent most of last summer’s training camp with them before being released on August 28. He then joined the Steelers, playing three games before returning to the Texans’ practice squad and eventually being signed to the active roster.

During his seven games with Houston last season, King started three and tallied 47 tackles, one sack, and two passes defensed. He also handled eight kickoffs for 101 yards and one punt for 23 yards. Notably, King earned All-Pro honors with the Chargers in 2018, a year after being drafted by them in the fifth round.

Throughout his career, King has accumulated 473 tackles, nine interceptions, three forced fumbles, and seven fumble recoveries. He has also scored four return touchdowns, including two on punt returns.

As for Murray, he concluded last season on injured reserve due to a knee injury. In six games with four starts, he recorded 13 tackles and forced one fumble.
