‘Huge boost’ Stampeders reportedly confirm another vital signing

The Calgary Stampeders have enlisted Hunter Thedford, an American offensive lineman, according to the team’s announcement on Friday.

Thedford, who initially played as a tight end both in college and at the onset of his professional career, has successfully transitioned to the offensive line. He has had stints in the National Football League with the Detroit Lions, New England Patriots, Denver Broncos, and Cleveland Browns. Additionally, he played for the Pittsburgh Maulers in the United States Football League in 2022, tallying 13 receptions for 124 yards and one touchdown.

During his senior year at Utah, Thedford participated in 14 games, including three starts, recording two catches for 12 yards. Prior to his time at Utah, he spent three seasons at Southern Methodist University, where he played in 23 games and had three catches for 36 yards. Notably, in 2018, he caught a two-point conversion that propelled SMU to an overtime victory against Navy. Thedford was recognized for his academic achievements when he was named to the American Athletic Conference all-academic team in 2016.
