Bruno Guimaraes sends heartfelt message to Newcastle United teammate after what he did v Wolves

Bruno Guimaraes expressed his affection for Joe Willock following Newcastle United’s triumph over Wolves. He played a pivotal role as Newcastle secured their inaugural home victory of 2024, triumphing over Wolves 3-0 last Saturday.

Once again, Guimaraes showcased his prowess, orchestrating play from midfield and contributing significantly to the team’s success. His dynamic run from midfield created the opportunity for the opening goal, as his deflected cross found its way to Alexander Isak, who scored with a header.

However, it was Guimaraes’ exquisite no-look pass to set up substitute Miguel Almiron that left spectators in awe. Although Dan Bentley’s save prevented an assist, the moment still garnered widespread admiration on social media, highlighting Guimaraes’ exceptional skill and contribution to the game.

Joe Willock, Guimaraes’ teammate, was particularly impressed and took to Instagram to express his admiration. Sharing a clip of Guimaraes’ performance on his story, Willock wrote, “You the best,” accompanied by the ice cold emoji. Guimaraes reciprocated the sentiment with a heartfelt response, affectionately addressing Willock by the nickname he had given him.

“In your company, everything seems effortless, Willockinho,” Guimaraes wrote in reply.

Willock, who had recently returned from a three-month absence due to an Achilles injury, made his second consecutive start for Newcastle United. His return to action began with a consolation goal in Newcastle’s 4-1 loss to Arsenal, followed by a starting role in the club’s FA Cup triumph over Blackburn Rovers under the management of Eddie Howe.

“It’s a mixed feeling,” expressed Willock after scoring at the Emirates. “The journey back from injury has been tough, emotionally draining really. Being sidelined for so long has been incredibly difficult, especially because I’ve missed being out there with my teammates, who mean a lot to me. There’s a genuine sense of camaraderie within the club, and their support has been invaluable. Being back with them means the world to me. Of course, I wanted us to win today, but despite the result, I’m just glad to be back on the pitch. My main focus now is to stay fit and keep contributing.”

Newcastle United will return to action on Monday, March 11th, as they face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League, with kickoff at 8pm.
