Packers Reportedly Want To Restructure RB’s Contract

The Packers took a significant gamble by trading Rodgers to the New York Jets, especially with uncertainties surrounding young quarterback Jordan Love. However, Love eventually validated the decision, demonstrating that the franchise is in capable hands going forward.

Despite a rough start to the 2023 NFL season, the Green Bay Packers initially seemed destined for disappointment without Aaron Rodgers at the helm.

Securing a playoff berth in the NFC, the Packers stunned the Dallas Cowboys with a surprising victory at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Led by Love, the team delivered an impressive performance against the Cowboys and came close to another upset against the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional round of the playoffs.

Although their season concluded in the Bay Area, the Packers showcased a promising outlook for the future.

Despite the team’s overall success, there’s a possibility that the Green Bay Packers may need to make some offseason moves, one of which could involve restructuring the contract of star running back Aaron Jones, as suggested by Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Although the Packers enjoyed a fruitful season, Jones didn’t perform at his peak, participating in just 11 games and accumulating 656 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 142 carries. Nonetheless, Jones showcased his versatility by also contributing 30 receptions for 233 receiving yards and a touchdown, highlighting his continued impact in the passing game.
