As a two-time winner of the Mackey Award, he’s widely considered a guaranteed first-round pick and is anticipated to be the top choice at his position.

Given Bowers’ already strong position in the draft rankings, it seems he has chosen not to join in the NFL Combine workouts. Instead, he is expected to focus on medical assessments and media engagements.

Although this announcement came as a surprise, it’s worth noting that Bowers faced challenges with an ankle injury that necessitated surgery in the 2023 season. This sidelined him for several games, including Georgia’s impressive 63-3 win over Florida State in the 2024 Orange Bowl.

Bowers is expected to showcase his skills in drills resembling those at the Combine during his pro day at the University of Georgia. The Bulldogs’ pro day is scheduled for March 13th.
