Draymond Green gets heated addressing Warriors reporter

Following an impressive victory on the road against the Knicks, Green was asked for an interview by NBC Sports Bay Area. However, he seemed disinterested in conversing with Bonta Hall, the postgame show host. Their exchange commenced with Green expressing surprise at being approached by Hall, citing remarks made during his suspension earlier in the season. “Bonta, Iā€™m surprised you want to talk to me,” Green remarked. “Considering what you said about me during my suspension, it’s unexpected. But go ahead.”

Clearly surprised by Green’s comment, Hill tried to continue the interview by asking about Green’s experience playing at Madison Square Garden. However, Green responded with a brief statement, indicating minimal interest in elaborating further. The awkward atmosphere led Hill’s co-hosts, former Warriors players Chris Mullin and Festus Ezeli, to step in and take over the interview.

The exchange ended on an uncomfortable note, as Green abruptly removed his headset and left without exchanging pleasantries. Hill remarked, “He doesn’t like me right now.”

Hill’s criticism of Green dates back to December when he questioned Green’s dedication to the team on his radio show, “The Morning Roast,” on 95.7 The Game. This criticism stemmed from Green’s actions during a game against the Suns on Dec. 12, where he received media scrutiny for an altercation with Suns center Jusuf Nurkic.

“I don’t know if he’s going to change,” Hill commented regarding Green. “Our culture is fractured right now because of this guy. I think of the young guys… how are they supposed to follow him as a leader?”

While Hill and others had valid reasons to question Green’s behavior last December, it’s evident that the Warriors perform better with him on the court. The statistics speak for themselves ā€” since Green returned from his suspension on Jan. 15, the team has posted a record of 13 wins and 6 losses. Additionally, he boasts the highest plus/minus among all Warriors players during this period, further highlighting his impact on the team’s success.
