Jaguars: Doug Pederson’s 6-word Trevor Lawrence take after disappointing season

Last season, the Jacksonville Jaguars experienced a significant letdown in the NFL, missing the playoffs after an impressive prior year. Trevor Lawrence’s performance at quarterback seemed to regress, drawing public remarks from his former Super Bowl-winning coach. To improve, the Jaguars could benefit from selecting four promising players in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft. Despite their potential, Lawrence and Pederson’s Jaguars were surprisingly ranked low among teams with odds to win their inaugural Super Bowl.

Pederson reassured Jaguars fans, backing Lawrence. “We do have the right quarterback,” Pederson said.

In the previous season, Lawrence’s numbers dipped to 21 touchdowns and 14 interceptions, a departure from his stronger performance the year before with 25 touchdowns and 8 interceptions. Despite a decent supporting cast, including Calvin Ridley’s 1,000+ yards and eight touchdowns, the overall output was solid but not outstanding. Travis Etienne achieved over 1,000 yards for the second time but struggled with a yards-per-carry average under four.

Enhancing the running game might hold the solution to unleashing Lawrence’s complete potential in 2024.
