Breaking News: Mets confirm another vital signing

The Mets have acquired Kolton Ingram, a southpaw reliever, via waivers from the Tigers. To accommodate him on the 40-man roster, David Peterson has been transferred to the 60-day injured list. Ingram, who was recently designated for assignment by the Tigers, marks his third team change in just a month, following his designation by the Angels at the end of January.

Detroit drafted Kolton Ingram in 2019, and he played in their farm system until his release in 2020. He then joined the Angels, primarily featuring in the minors. Last year marked his major league debut, where he recorded an 8.44 ERA over 5 1/3 innings across five appearances, tallying seven strikeouts and five walks.

Throughout 45 minor league games last season, Ingram maintained a 2.95 ERA across 61 innings with a 1.23 WHIP.

Following his designation for assignment by the Angels, the Tigers reclaimed him off waivers, marking his brief return to Detroit.
