Breaking News: Winnipeg Blue Bombers confirm another top signing

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have secured the services of American wide receiver K.J. Hill. Standing at six feet tall and weighing 196 pounds, Hill had a remarkable college career at Ohio State University, tallying 201 receptions across 50 games, surpassing the previous record set by former NFL Pro Bowler David Boston. He concluded his time at Ohio State with 2,332 receiving yards, 20 touchdowns, and three Big Ten championships.

Selected in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Chargers, the 26-year-old Hill played in 21 games over two seasons, totaling 10 catches for 103 yards. Hailing from Little Rock, Arkansas, he showcased his athleticism at the NFL Combine with a 4.60-second forty-yard dash, a 32.5-inch vertical jump, a 114-inch broad jump, and 17 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press.

Winnipeg’s acquisition of Hill comes at a time when they have a gap in their receiving unit due to Rasheed Bailey’s departure in free agency. Bailey, a four-year veteran, recently inked a deal with the Toronto Argonauts.

The Blue Bombers will kick off their 2024 regular season by hosting the Grey Cup champions, the Montreal Alouettes, at Princess Auto Stadium on Thursday, June 6th.
