Vikings Star Is Named ‘Best Fit’ For Rams In Free Agency

The Los Angeles Rams have been relatively inactive in recent free agency periods, but with more than $35 million in cap space this offseason, they have the potential to be much more involved.

After a surprising 2023 season, where they finished 10-7 and secured a playoff berth mainly due to their exceptional rookie class, the Rams now face renewed pressure for 2024.

General manager Les Snead is known for his bold approach, and if he chooses to make big moves this offseason, there’s a prime opportunity. ESPN reports that Minnesota Vikings defensive end Danielle Hunter, a four-time Pro Bowler, could be an ideal addition to the Rams roster.

ESPN emphasizes the importance of the Rams addressing their need for an edge rusher in free agency, given their ample financial resources. Hunter’s impressive performance in 2023, tallying 16.5 sacks and four forced fumbles with the Vikings, underscores his potential impact. His addition would bolster the Rams’ pass rush, pairing him with emerging talent Byron Young, who notched eight sacks as a rookie, and the perennial powerhouse Aaron Donald on the interior. Hunter’s track record of dominance, save for his absence in 2020 due to a serious neck injury, further solidifies his appeal.

At 29 years old, Hunter brings experience and prowess, having amassed 87.5 sacks over eight seasons with the Vikings. While the Rams possess capable pass-rushers in Donald, Young, and rookie Kobie Turner, adding another edge presence like Hunter would significantly elevate their defensive capabilities.
