David Bakhtiari Reacts To Recent Reports About His Future

The Green Bay Packers exceeded expectations in their rebuilding process, reaching the NFC Divisional Round in the 2023 NFL Playoffs. Despite trading away Aaron Rodgers in the previous offseason, the team confidently started Jordan Love, who showcased potential as the franchise’s next star quarterback. Although they fell short against the San Francisco 49ers, the Packers and their fans can take pride in their impressive journey.

However, there are concerns about the team’s offensive line, which struggled to defend against pass rushers and protect Jordan Love. Originally counting on David Bakhtiari as their starting left tackle, the Packers faced setbacks when he underwent another knee surgery, causing him to miss most of the 2023 season. Recent reports suggest Green Bay may release Bakhtiari, with the tackle himself addressing the speculation on his personal Twitter account.

“If I get fired because of this, I blame you,” Bakhtiari tweeted.”

Bakhtiari has faced significant challenges since tearing his ACL in the 2020 season, limiting his time on the field. Both he and the organization have found it frustrating to navigate through multiple setbacks. However, there’s optimism on both ends that he’ll be ready to return for the kickoff of the 2024 NFL season.

With draft picks at their disposal in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, the Packers might consider selecting Bakhtiari’s potential successor. However, the primary intention is to have Bakhtiari reclaim his starting role once he’s fully recovered and healthy.
