Sunderland are in final stage discussion to sign Alex Pritchard replacement

Sunderland is poised to secure the signing of a former Tottenham Hotspur prospect before Thursday’s transfer cutoff. As per acclaimed football journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Black Cats are finalizing the acquisition of Standard Liège midfielder Romaine Mundle. Having departed Spurs last summer, the 20-year-old has struggled for consistent playing time in Belgium, featuring only six times for the senior squad. Despite committing to a contract until 2027, reports indicate that the young midfielder has journeyed to England today to finalize a permanent move to the Stadium of Light, aligning with Sunderland’s strategy of recruiting young talent.

He might step in for Alex Pritchard, who opted out of Michael Beale’s squad ahead of last Saturday’s 3-1 victory over Stoke City, as Pritchard aims to secure a transfer elsewhere.
