Amanda Staveley gets behind the lads on Instagram after ‘outstanding’ victory

Last night, Newcastle United exceeded expectations by ending Aston Villa’s nearly year-long unbeaten streak at home. What’s more, it marked Newcastle’s first goal at Villa Park in the Premier League since 2013, and their first victory there since that same match. The last time a Newcastle player found the net at Villa Park was in a 1-1 draw in the Championship, and even then, it was an own goal by Tommy Elphick.

Given these circumstances, it’s no surprise that the devoted Toon Army, despite facing inconvenient kick-off times dictated by TV schedules, were in high spirits at the end of the match.

Amidst the celebrations, Amanda Staveley, now a 6% co-owner, joined in and expressed her admiration on Instagram, using the official site’s striking image of Jacob Murphy celebrating his goal. Despite diluting her shares, Staveley’s passion for the club remains undiluted.

Staveley captioned the image to express her gratitude to both the players and the fans for an exceptional evening. She wrote, “Incredible performance tonight! I’m incredibly proud of our team. A huge thank you to all our incredible fans for their unwavering support, no matter the distance. What a truly fantastic night.”

Time to kick on and climb that table

This outcome should provide a significant boost for both the team and the fans, who have been enduring a challenging period with the recent negativity surrounding the club. With upcoming matches against Luton and Nottingham Forest, Newcastle are now fueled by a desire for revenge, particularly against Forest following Chris Wood’s hat trick. We anticipated our resurgence in the second half of the season, but it’s pleasantly surprising that it’s happening earlier than expected, which is definitely a positive development.
